Beyond the classroom
No idea needed. Just a willingness to try.
You’ll learn business by doing business, across three threads that run all year.
Your crew’s product
In a crew of 2 to 4, design a real product or service to showcase under the Business Spark banner.
Real social enterprises
Step inside real social enterprises, watch them run live and learn how they create impact.
Your own business
Take everything back into your own idea and shape a plan you could actually launch.
The Business Spark edge
Think outside the box. Solve real problems.
Business Spark is where curiosity meets creativity. You’ll be encouraged to question how things are done, spot problems worth solving and come up with fresh ideas, then turn the best of them into real products and services.
Like every Spark crew, you’ll own your work and feel supported by the people around you, but here the edge is innovation: thinking differently, testing ideas and learning that an idea that doesn’t work is just the next step to a better one.
Creative thinking
Generating fresh ideas and seeing possibilities others miss.
Problem-solving

From idea to action

What is the core focus of the program?
Learning business by doing business. Working towards the BSB30220 Certificate III in Entrepreneurship and New Business (RTO 45570), you’ll design a product with your crew, learn inside real social enterprises and shape your own business idea, with sustainability at the heart of everything.

What does a typical Thursday look like?
A crew session with your Learning Coach, time on your crew’s product and your own idea, then social enterprise visits, customer testing or event prep.
The experience
Do I need a business idea?
No. Crews start by exploring opportunities together, and ideas grow from there.
What is a social enterprise?
A business that exists to do good, for people, communities or the planet, and reinvests its profits into that purpose. Learnivation is one too.
What will my crew make?
In a crew of 2 to 4, you’ll design a real product or service, test it with customers and showcase it under the Business Spark banner, with sustainable design built in from day one.
Is it suitable for homeschoolers?
Absolutely. Homeschoolers often thrive in our Spark programs because they’re project-based, collaborative and practical.
Outcomes and pathways
What are the outcomes?
You’ll leave with a real product, a Portfolio of Business, your own business plan and a nationally recognised qualification, if you meet all training and assessment requirements. Everyone’s path is different and no outcome is guaranteed.
What can I do after Business Spark?
Some learners keep building their own business; others step up into Spark Leadership, working towards the BSB40520 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management through RPL.
Does it count towards the QCE?
A completed Certificate III may contribute credits towards your QCE. It depends on your learning account, so check with your school.
