Why choose Learnivation

No classroom. No cookie-cutter. Just you and your coach.

You learn best when the learning fits you, so we build your traineeship around the way you think, the work you already do and the business you’re building.

1

One-on-one, always

Your own Learning Coach from the first week to the last, in person or over Zoom. Never lost at the back of a class.

2

Shaped to how you learn

We get to know how you think and learn, then shape every session around it, whether you’re a talker, a doer or a quiet processor.

3

No wasted days

No block release, no sitting through content you already know. Every hour goes into real work in your job.

4

Progress you can see

One action a week, a portfolio of real work that’s yours to keep, and a nationally recognised qualification at the end.

Is it a fit

Is this for you?

You might have an idea you’d like to explore, or your workplace might have an opportunity it wants you to develop. It could be a new service, a product, a way to reach customers or a venture connected to the organisation where you work.

You don’t need a finished business plan to begin. You do need a workplace where you can investigate the idea, try practical tasks and learn from the people around you. Your Learning Coach will help you break the work into steps.

How it works

A coach beside you, work you can use

You’ll work with the same Learning Coach throughout your traineeship. In coaching sessions, you’ll talk through what you’re doing and agree on a practical action to take at work. At the next session, you’ll review what happened and decide on your next step.

Your plans, documents and other work form your Portfolio of Business. Your coach helps you understand what evidence is needed for the qualification and how to show the skills you’ve developed. You’ll also meet with your employer at the end of each mission to review your progress together.

The evidence

Why coaching beats the classroom

  • Coaching multiplies what training delivers. In a well-known public-sector study, managers who did training alone lifted their productivity by 22%. Those who had training followed by one-on-one coaching lifted it by 88% (Olivero, Bane and Kopelman, 1997)
  • Skills stick when you practise them in the job. Research on workplace learning found as few as 5% of people use a new skill after theory and demonstration alone, rising to around 95% when coaching in the job is added (Joyce and Showers, 2002)
  • Learn it, try it, reflect, repeat. That is the rhythm every session is built on: one action to try in your real work, then time with your coach to make sense of how it went.
  • Coaches, not lecturers. Every Learnivation educator is a certified Learning Coach, educated in the neuroscience of coaching.

The two missions

What you’ll do

Your traineeship has two missions. Each gives you a chance to develop your idea and show what you can do through real work.

Mission 1 of 2Months 1–9

Mission 1: Plan the Business

Start by investigating the opportunity. Who would it serve? What problem could it solve? What would you need to make it work? You’ll research, ask questions, compare options and begin shaping a practical plan.

You may create: a Business Heartbeat canvas, an opportunity investigation and a resource plan.

Mission 2 of 2Months 10–18

Mission 2: Build the Business

Take your idea further by testing it and working through the details. You’ll consider costs, finances and compliance requirements, develop an appropriate online presence, and bring your thinking together in a Business Blueprint. Then you’ll present it to real decision-makers.

You may create: a financial forecast, a compliance checklist, an online presence, a Business Blueprint and a recorded pitch.

What you finish with

What you can take from the experience

By working through a real opportunity, you can build skills in researching ideas, planning resources, organising finances, addressing business requirements and presenting a proposal.

You’ll finish with a portfolio of work you can discuss and build on. If you successfully complete all training and assessment requirements, you’ll receive BSB30220 Certificate III in Entrepreneurship and New Business.
